digital:earth:at, the Austrian Centre for Learning and
Teaching with Geoinformation based at the Department of Geoinformatics - Z_GIS,
University of Salzburg, will host a GIS Day event on November 14th, 2012.
Some 300 students and teachers from secondary schools in Salzburg and Upper
Austria will attend presentations and workshops held by the Z_GIS experts and
partners from other research institutions and the local government.
A wide range of topics and tools will be presented in the
workshops and tested by the young audience, such as GPS, smartphone mapping
apps for OpenStreetMap, and remote sensing tools.
